Gay Rights under attack from religious maniacs

BBC NEWS | Politics | Gay rights laws facing challenge

I should probably preface this by saying I'm incredibly riled up today by some ridiculous happenings in world affairs. This is just the first of one of many disgusting events, basically Christians don't want to have to put up with homosexuals in their businesses, hotels etc. This is plain discrimination and the government, rightly so, want to create a law to ban this. I don't know if they've ever heard of tolerance but let me try and explain. Imagine if I ran a Hotel and said "Welcome all, except those who believe in magical people in the sky that can't be seen or proved". The building would probably be burned to the ground by the next day. Sexuality, as with Religion, is a persons choice as long as they don't inflict it too much on anyone else. Letting a gay couple stay in your hotel doesn't mean you have to go join in with them! You can turn the other way and get on with your life. Likewise, I would not come and join with your prayers, but I would let you get on with it and do something else.

Barrister Thomas Cordrey, from the Lawyers' Christian Fellowship, which has organised the rally, denied the group was homophobic, saying the regulations did not "strike the correct balance".

He said: "Christians have no desire to discriminate unjustly on the grounds of sexual orientation, but they cannot and must not be forced to actively condone and promote sexual practices which the Bible teaches are wrong."

Firstly it's quite funny how he says they're not homophobic. Secondly how he says "we have no desire to discriminate unjustly". As if discriminating because of sexuality is a *just* discrimination. No No No. You cant just keep falling back to some book that got wrote 2000 years ago or whatever, its completely absurd! It's just selective reading, I'm sure there's completely ridiculous things in there like never drive a horse and cart at night (sorry I'm not particularly clued up on all the bible stories), but people have ignored them because it obviously doesnt apply to this day and age. This is another completely ridiculous notion from that archaic hate-guide!!!!
