Madeleine family lobby Parliament

BBC NEWS | UK | Madeleine family lobby Parliament

This whole thing has been getting pretty silly. To start with they left their children alone in a room while they went and had a nice meal, which was rather careless. Obviously it's pretty horrific that she's been taken, but I don't see much that can be done. So, their solutions are this: Get famous people like David Beckham to ask for her back ("I may be a rich celebrity detached from society, but I still care! I do I do!!!"). Put up a £2m reward. If this still fails go ask Parliament. I'm really not sure what they expect MPs to do... "Hi, I lost my child, can you help me find her?" Not really the job of government?

I read something in the Guardian about a family who got their child snatched in Portugal a few years ago, the police sent out 6 people to look for a few days, but they weren't found and that was that. Maybe they didn't have a nice picture of their pretty little girl to splash all over the newspapers...

It also seems to have been the front story on bbc news ever since it happened. I don't wanna sound like a dick or anything, I do feel for the family, just people make it wierd. I heard on the news yesterday something like "I'm sure since it happened we've all been waking up every morning just hoping and wishing for good news." No offence or anything, but when I wake up in the morning, Madeleine is not the first thing on my mind. There is other stuff going on.

Apologies for lack of proper blogging recently...guess I just lost some motivation. There hasn't really been much news either though. Back soon.

you can be rest-assured madeleines' parents wont leave their kids alone again. my question is: why do people relax sooooo, much on holiday that they feel they can leave their children in their hotel or apartment? with babysitting service availabe that they chose not to take?

NO MATTER where i am,london, paris, ghana, with my three children (under 10) everyone is a potential kidnapper, mugger or paedophile... it might seem strange to look at everyone with this in mind but ide rather be safe than sorry... where i come from in hackney east london this thought is applied to day to day living, and now i live in the countryside it dont change nothin, the people i mentioned before live in the countryside too. people need to wake-up and realise that the very last person they want their child to meet might be where they are right now instead of thinking aaaaahhhh we are on holiday we can do what we like the kids are safe, get to know your neighbor?... i dont think so. madeleines parents shud be brought to book for their troubles, how dare they leave their kids like that! glad i cant AFFORD a bloody holiday with people like that around...

haha fair, thanks for the comment. i mean i dont think they need to be "brought to book", surely losing a child is enough. I don't really wanna have a go at the family, it's just the whole media frenzy is pretty wierd, to the point of freaking me out slightly....
