Wireless Power!?!?!

ThinkGeek :: Wireless Extension Cords

Er!?!? How cool is that? I've often thought how amazing it would be if they could do this but assumed it to be technologically impossibe, you can't just transfer energy through the air like that? Well apparently you can, over 300 feet no less. Possibilities are endless; take your telly outside in the summer? Or a huge hi-fi instead of lame quiet battery ones? Have LAN parties outside in the sun!? Or just keep one plugged into your house and have a power socket to carry around with you? And it's only $35 (£17.50). The pictures shown has US-style plugs but you can get adaptors can't you...

It does come with this disclaimer though:

Even though these microwaves are about as harmful as the leakage from an ordinary microwave oven (not much), do not put computers, televisions, other sensitive electrical equipment, food, liquids, paper, glass, flammable substances, magnets, or living things in between the base and satellite units. Just in case.
Bit worrying? Wouldn't that make it a bit pointless? I'm sure it's fine. The description made me laugh anyway.

Because technology is constantly changing, one of the greatest tools to the do-it-yourselfer is the extension cord. Now you can put anything in any room you want - even outside. Every once in a while, though, a long cord across the floor can be more dangerous than helpful. Sure you could just put a carpet or tape over the cord, but why bother? Let technology solve its own problems. Grab some Wireless Extension Cords, and leave the wires where they belong - somewhere else!
