Religion Scams

BBC NEWS | World | Africa | Uganda pastor denies miracle scam
They rarely have any formal religious training - usually they set up a church and say they have been touched by God.
Um. Is that any different to like all other religions? I've been listening to too much Richard Dawkins, but this is a good example of how "whether he used this little electric shock thing or not" isn't the problem, it's the fact that religion teaches people to accept what you're told by the man at the front regardless of the evidence and what's really happening. They call it "faith".

Tricks like this are much easier to pull off in, for example, remote parts of Africa were people are illiterate and uneducated, or...say....2,000 years ago....
