News - Gaim
Gaim has been my IM client of choice for a good few years now...it connects to msn/aol/jabber/google talk/everything and does everything you could need from an instant messaging program, as well as having plenty of plugins and open source code meaning you can do anything you want with it.
I've been slightly bewildered as to why there hasn't been a proper release for...well years. Fortunately they've finally broke their silence and it turns out they've had legal issues with Aol. As a result they're changing the name of the program to "Pidgin". Go read the story about what happened it's quite interesting. But anyway, they're releasing 2.0.0 final in the next week or so, so that should be pretty cool
