Christian Terrorism

ABC News: Bomb Plot Thwarted at Falwell's Funeral

Campbell County authorities arrested a Liberty University student for having several homemade bombs in his car. The student, 19-year-old Mark D. Uhl of Amissville, Va., reportedly told authorities that he was making the bombs to stop protesters from disrupting the funeral service. The devices were made of a combination of gasoline and detergent, a law enforcement official told ABC News' Pierre Thomas. They were "slow burn," according to the official, and would not have been very destructive.
Oh wait, did I say terrorism? I meant er, "pressure for peace". Yes that's a better phrase, this Christian was planning a "pressure for peace" attack on a group of protestors who where at the funeral of Jerry Falwell. Obviously when it's in the name of God rather than Allah, planning to bomb a group of people for religious reasons isn't "terrorism". He'll be arrested on suspicion of making an explosive device and then freed.

Here are some choice quotes from Mr Jerry Falwell, all round nice guy and preacher of tolerance:

"gay folks would just as soon kill you as look at you."

“AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals, it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals.”

(After 9/11): "I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'"

"I do question the sincerity and non-violent intentions of some civil rights leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mr. James Farmer, and others, who are known to have left wing associations."
