Palin is currently being investigated by an independent investigator hired by the Alaska Legislature to determine whether she abused her power when she fired Monegan. The investigation is scheduled to end October 30, only days before the November 4 presidential election.That is gold, pure, pure political gold. Did McCain really not think about this? What if it is concluded, in the week before the election, that she was involved in firing a police officer because he divorced Palin's sister? Legendary.
