Klashnekoff

If you're into hip hop I have to recommend you the new Klashnekoff album, Tussle With The Beast (Listen, Buy) which is released today. I've been a fan of his for a while, he raps about Britain and social deprivation and gun culture and all sorts of things, it's such a refreshing change from what you expect from hip-hop ("Check out my ho's and my blings, sip bicardi steal gold rings") and is representative of a lot of what's happening in uk hip hop these days. Braintax started it all off when he launched Low Life Records a few years ago, and has consistently been signing the best talent; Klashnekoff, Jehst, Mystro, Rodney P, Skinnyman, Task Force, the list goes on.

Anyway even if you don't usually like hip hop, this stuff's worth a go, some people - especially Braintax - get a lot deeper than you'd expect, talking about war and Iraq and Palestine etc. He even uses George Galloway samples.

And don't forget you can always check my Last FM Page to see what's cool this week!
